For everyone of us that has ventured afield with a canine companion, we know the value of having a well-bred dog that has strong hunting desire, is healthy, and well trained. All of these traits contribute to the overall performance of the dog in the field. Yet, there is one underlying factor that can undermine or optimize all of these traits either directly or indirectly,Hunting Dogs and that is the food the dog eats and the nutrients it receives. I think you would all agree that the ultimate goal with any hunting dog is to optimize its performance, which can mean learning faster, hunting longer, finding more game, or many other things that lead to hunting success. We all know that hunting success with our dogs is intricately linked with training and conditioning of the dog, along with time in the field hunting. What may not be obvious is that our hunting dogs are essentially elite canine athletes. Read More >>

Please take your time and browse the different photography galleries that I have available. They are always changing and I hope that you will bookmark this page to return and see the new additions. I was able to get into photography more as a hobby during the hunting seasons and I have since become more and more interested. I enjoy all types of photography but my favorite is the nature and outdoors. I certainly welcome any comments on the pictures that I have and hope you enjoy these galleries. If you would like to have a picture printed please let me know and I would be more than happy to talk to you about getting one of these nature images to you.Facebook Logo

Photography Tips:

George Lepp recently returned from an expedition to Africa, where he was using the Canon EOS 7D and EOS-1D Mark IV, and one of his traveling companions was using the Nikon D3 and D3S. These cameras are part of the wave of new DSLRs that are changing photography due to their ability to produce good images at ISO ratings we’d tend to think of as extreme. If you were a film shooter, you probably remember thinking of Bobcat in FieldASA 400 and 800 as “high-speed” emulsions. Using these films would get you highly grainy images with flat colors and a certain inherent loss of sharpness. Fast-forward to 2010: There are cameras that bump the ISO up to 102,400, and many of the current DSLRs can make excellent images with relatively little grain and plenty of color saturation at ISO ratings of 1600, 3200 and 6400. In fact, Lepp remarked that with some of these new cameras, he’s starting to think of 800 as the new ISO 100, 1600 as the new ISO 200 and 3200 as the new ISO 400. Read More

In its first year, the Northwest Tennessee Kids Hunting for a Cure decided it wanted to go big. Those grand ambitions put more than 100 children out in the field on opening day of the state's spring youth season. turdivant and his group of volunteers have worked the better part of a year to obtain land, guides, entertainment, food, auction items and places for all of the visitors to stay.

In all, more than $30,000 was raised by the non-profit organization to benefit children with cancer and other childhood diseases. Through sponsors the youth secured, they brought in around $11,000.
